Shopping list: Items in red are optional but when added will enhance the flavour. For SYN FREE cooking substitute for Fat Free / Low Calorie ingredients

• 1 Spice Raks Tandoori Tikka Kit
• 1 kg Chicken thigh boneless / breast fillets 3mm thickness sliced flat
1 tbsp Garlic Puree or finely chopped
1 tbsp Ginger Puree or finely chopped
1 tbsp Green Chilli, finely chopped
3 tbsp Coriander, finely chopped
• 1 fresh Lemon, juice
• 300g Plain Yoghurt
• 3 tbsp Olive Oil
• 1 level tsp Salt
• 2 Skewers (metal or wooden)

Minted Yogurt Sauce

• 200g Plain Yogurt
• 1 tsp Mint Sauce/ fresh mint leaves - (finely chopped)
• small Splash of Cold Milk or Water
• Pinch of Salt
• 1 tbsp Olive Oil ( optional )

To Serve With:

• Nan Bread / Pitta Bread
• Sliced Lettuce / Mixed Salad Leaves
• Tomato Slices
• Onion Slices

Cooking instructions

1. Marinate Chicken following the instructions on the Tandoori Tikka Kit
2. Prepare the Minted Yogurt Sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly together to create your sauce. Place in refrigerator.
3. Preheat oven to 200c or BBQ. Take one slice of chicken at a time folding it 3 times and thread onto two skewers. Repeat with all the chicken slices until they are stuck together.
4. Lightly oil the BBQ grill or baking tray and place the skewers in on the grill or oven
5. Cook until charred like effect. If in oven after the chicken is cooked place under grill for a minute or two to char.
6. Remove skewers and stand upright or at an angle and slice thinly.
7. Place sliced donner meat on Naan Bread, top with lettuce, sliced onions and tomatoes. Drizzle the yogurt mint sauce and your favourite mayonnaise or chilli sauces. For Pitta Bread instead of topping it, fill it as above.
8. Enjoy a perfect Chicken Donner Kebab Cooked at Home Guilt Free!

Servings are 6 – 8 people, anything left over can be refrigerated or frozen for later use


Our Vegan recipe requires substituting for Quorn type Chicken Pieces 500g and Linda Mcartney type Sausages 1 pack. Simply thaw both packets fully, place sausages in a bowl and mix until meat like texture. Add the Quorn Pieces, Tandoori Tikka Mix + additional ingredients as per shopping list, using instead only 150g Plain Yoghurt and mix until they stick and bind. Roll into a donner like shape and run through 2 skewers through the middle. Place on lightly oiled baking tray in preheated oven 200c or BBQ. Cook all sides until thoroughly cooked with a charred effect to the sides of the donner. Place under a hot grill if required for a few minutes. Your homemade donner is now ready for slicing!
